Dealing With An Employee Suffering From Depression

This wish of all beings, to be free from suffering is also the origin of religion. When scientists discovered that 98% of our DNA is not junk (it is regulatory DNA) a new door opened, and now we are seeing extraordinarily rapid progress in genetic engineering for the production of lab-grown meat and milk (no more animal cruelty), and medical treatments such as the reconstruction of body parts (want to live forever?), and hundreds of new pest-resistant vegetables (no absorbed pesticide sprays), and many other revolutionary applications.

Many aspects of ethical teaching in Buddhism seem to coincide with biblical teaching; this prompts even serious people, from both the Buddhist and the Christian side, to assume that these religions are in essence the same. One of the most powerful techniques for finding meaning for our suffering is complete acceptance of a Super Meaning, an unconditional suffering, unexplainable purpose. I'm just learning new, better ways to behave and see the world that are more successful at serving my best interests.

To “define” means that we can neatly summarize something in a well-rounded sentence by saying, “Suffering is ” and by the end of the sentence, we know what it is. But suffering is much too deep, much too mysterious, to be contained in a mere definition.

Depression symptoms include persistent sadness, always tired, anxious, sleeping a lot, lessened appetite, weight loss, increased appetite, awakening during night, low self-esteem, irritability and negative in their actions as well as thoughts. Although their mental pain and suffering were relieved, they still could not avoid their physical suffering. In the case of withdrawal, she is sinking into a deep depression where nothing matters, nothing at all.

Suffering can come from any number of things... sickness and accidents, loss of a loved one, loss of a job, etc. Only He knows that answer, but the Bible teaches that there will be a time when He will put an end to ALL death, sadness, pain, sickness, and suffering. This paper attempts to study the concept of suffering in Buddhism in deal with suffering the light of the five precepts, the law of moral causation and suffering which will be then compared with Christianity. Christianity not only offers salvation and victory over the bondage of sin, sinful desires and passions but also gives a new hope for the ultimate freedom from suffering.
